“When I was just starting out in the industry, there was a legendary sculptor in Japan named Mr. Yusuke Takayanagi. I still vividly remember how shocked I was at the design sense of his work “Sallasenien,” which was published in Creature Core by the late Mr. Yasushi Nirasawa. I admired him, and now, nearly 30 years after I started working in the same industry, I wanted to revive a new “Sallasenien,” incorporating my own style into the work. The back story is that the original piece was broken before it was molded, and I learned that no one had a copy of it with a high quality of perfection, which gave me the impetus to re-create it.
